Expelled in Tempe …

The Expelled boyos seem to be tightening up their act. Now you can’t RSVP for future events all of which have been removed from the list. Compare this (yesterday) with this.

This should serve as a pretty sound rejoinder to the tinfoil hat conspiracy-theorizing among some about what their “motives” may have been. They just screwed the pooch, and this shows that they recognize their own incompetence.

I heard there were a lot of people who were going to register as “PZ Myers”. Today, we are all PZ Myers! But they have probably configured their name entry field to reject that value, so to speak.

Hell no they won’t let you in. You’re Irish!

Wow, good detective work! What slimy characters these guys are.

I might try to see this also. I like ERV’s idea to turn this film into another cult flick like Rocky Horror Picture Show. Wish I could of seen Dawkins when he was here in Tempe. Ended up taking cat to the vet though. Nothing serious but put a kink into going.

Of course as I hit post I think of another idea.
Should I wear my Darwin evolve fish T-shirt?

The version that is currently up, which appears to differ yet again from the two captures, continues to show no future dates, but does contain this curious entry (commas (,) inserted to try and improve the clarity):

    State, City, Location, Date, Time

OH, Dayton, The Experience Youth Church, Coming Soon…, TBD, Done

A date of “coming soon” (with time TDB), but it’s been “done” (i.e., it happened). Eh?
Please do keep us informed on what happens. E.g., any e-mails about a cancellation of the event you’ve registered for, or what happens if you do show up, et al.

Oh, Prof. Lynch is being a bad boy. According to the framers, Mooney and Nisbitt, Mr. Lynch should eschew this file preview as his presence just gives free publicity to the backers of the film.

  9. March 23, 2008 at 1:28 pm

Rather like how Watergate gave all that free publicity to Nixon? Ben Stein should be familiar with the phenomenon. . . .

Why don’t you go dressed as PZ (with fake beard et al.) and see if you get the same treatment?

I got an emailed confirmation of reservation to the Milwaukee showing…and no “invitation” retraction so far.
Anyone have a panda suit I can borrow…size 42 long would work?

Arizona Mills Mall is a hub of obnoxiousness under normal conditions. I can’t imagine what it’s going to be like with a bunch of IDers hanging about the place.

  13. March 28, 2008 at 8:50 pm

Not only are they trying to pre-screen viewers, but I suspect that they violated their own privacy policy by leaking PZ’s name to Mark Mathis.
