Pre-season football rankings

The AP pre-season top 25 was released today and featured a somewhat predictable triumvirate of Florida, Texas and Oklahoma at the top. The Pac-10 are represented by USC (4), Cal (12), and Oregon (16). Georgia – whom ASU play in Athens – are #13. It’s going to be a tough season for ASU if those teams can maintain their ranking. First game is in two weeks against Idaho State.

  1. I wish the NCAA would abolish preseason rankings. They bias the polls before even a single game has been played. It would be better to have the first poll after about 3 or 4 weeks when most teams have played their non-conference games and are moving into the conference schedule.

Itโ€™s amazing you havenโ€™t been kicked out of Oklahoma yet!

I can say from direct observation that there are places in OKC where one can get grievously injured for failing to meet college football fan standards.
